On Wednesday, September 7, commenting on the information voiced on the radio “Echo of Penza” concerning the fact that Moscow authorities transfer buses, trolley buses and trams not used in Moscow for various reasons, free of charge, the head of the region noted that Penza also needs public transport.
“Of course, we are in need of transport. If it is good, well-functioning, it would be nice to have it. [...] We would have repaired it, brought it to the proper state and used it on a number of routes,” Ivan Belozertsev said.
He promised to appeal to the mayor of Moscow with the corresponding request.
“By the way, following my letter, mayor Sobyanin allocated 150 million rubles in extra-budgetary transfers 1.5 months ago [...]. These funds were spent to develop the road network, yard territories. [...] If he hears our request on buses and if there is such an opportunity, it would be a good idea,” Ivan Belozertsev noted.
