Up to 1.5 thousand Penza police officers to monitor public order during elections

Penza, 8 September 2016. PenzaNews. 1,450 police officers will be involved in ensuring public order in the Penza region on the day of voting September 18, the press service of the regional MIA told PenzaNews.

The ministry added that it is also planned to attract 1 thousand representatives of public associations of law enforcement.
“On September 18, in Penza and 19 areas the election of deputies to the State Duma of the Russian Federation will be held, as well as the election of deputies to representative bodies of municipalities. Voting will take place on 1,105 polling stations,” the police noted.
According to the deputy police chief of the regional MIA Nikolai Sarmin, personnel are ready to ensure public order.
“During the election campaign the Penza regional police received four claims reporting on possible violations of the election legislation. All appeals are thoroughly checked,” he said.
