Penza, 9 September 2016. PenzaNews. Fifth regional media festival “We are from Penza” started in the regional Lermontov library on Friday, September 9.

During the opening ceremony, Governor Ivan Belozertsev greeted the audience and suggested that the festival plays an important role in the life of the professional community.

“This event is held for the fifth time. I feel like saying: “It is great that we are all gathered here today,” the head of the region said.

He added that the festival enables the media to discuss the state of modern journalism and the future plans.

“It is important for the government that timely information was provided, that the issue was presented at different angles, and the information was objective,” Ivan Belozertsev stressed.
The governor also encouraged the journalists to pay more attention to ordinary people.

In turn, the chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Penza region Valery Lidin noted the high quality of Penza journalism.

“We are proud! I feel like saying: “We are from Penza,” the speaker of the regional parliament stressed.
At the opening ceremony, the officials awarded Penza media workers. Thus, the chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technologies and Communications Leonid Levin presented an honorary diploma for conscientious work and high achievements in professional activities to the photojournalist of PenzaNews agency Maxim Kostyushin.

It is expected that the festival will continue with a discussion platform “Media, government and society: Building relationships for the sake of consolidation.”

After a coffee break there will be a master-class hosted by the “Zvezda” channel TV presenter Irina Losik on the topic “TV presenter in the studio, the interaction of the correspondent and cameraman on the road.” Also the program includes a master-class by media consultant Vladimir Skorobogatko “Modern trends in newspaper design. Penza media overview.”

In addition, the secretary of the Russian Journalists' Union, Vladimir Kasyutin will tell “How to keep the reader. Experience of Russian newspapers.”

The event is organized in partnership with the Penza branch of Rostelecom JSC.
