Penza, 14 September 2016. PenzaNews. The regional qualifying round of the national championship of professional skills among people with disabilities “Abilympics” will be held in the Penza region on October 12-13.

At this point, the regional organizing committee of the event is assembled, as well as a list of skills to be presented at the qualifying stage: network and system administration, software development, web-design, database administration, design, economics, accounting, dental technician.

The winners of the regional stage will present the Penza region at the national championship which for the second time will be held in Moscow on November 17-18.

As the press service of the regional Ministry of Education told PenzaNews, last year, the representatives of the Penza region also participated in the competition.

“A graduate of the Penza Base Medical College 2012 with a degree in “Orthopedic Stomatology” Vasily Ponomarenko became the winner of the first national championship “Abilympics” and participated in the IX International Festival of the same name, which was held in France in March 2016. He competed in “Dental Technician” skills and became the youngest member of his profession, taking the fourth placein his division,” the department explained.

Abilympics International International Movement covers a wide range of activities to support the employment of people with disabilities, including the conduct of international professional skills competition among disabled people based on the Olympic system.

Russia joined the movement in 2014 on the initiative of the fund “Education for societyf” — the first Russian representative in the WorldSkills International.
