“In Russia, we are used to donating for children, the elderly, pets, and here is a grown man. But something went off the plan. The campaign was launched in mid-March, and by the end of August, over 700 thousand rubles were raised! And a sense of happiness and fulfillment of dreams became a little closer! On September 3, Alexander celebrated his 25 th anniversary. People wrote a lot of good words, wishes. But that was not even the main gift! A well-wisher not only donated a large sum to help Sasha, but also obtained a quota for an operation in Moscow at the best neurosurgeons of the country,” “Civil Union” fund posted on Facebook.
The message goes on to say that a few Penza residents also responded to the call to give the young man a cell phone and a laptop to help him stay in touch during the treatment.
The success of the fundraising campaign for Alexander Kiryushatov was commented by executive director of “Civil Union” Oleg Sharipkov.
“An incredible coincidence. I do not remember a single case in Penza when people donated to an adult disabled for the treatment. Serious treatment. Or maybe the society has changed,” he said.
