Penza, 6 October 2016. PenzaNews. Three train cars, one of which caught fire derailed in Penza according to the story of the drills, which took place in the framework of the All-Russian drills on civil defense on Thursday, October 6.

According to the story, as a result of the accident there were injured and killed.

The regional EMERCOM officers arrived at scene along with the ambulance and the Kuybyshev Railway representatives. In total, the training was attended by 67 people and more than 10 pieces of equipment.

According to first deputy chief of the regional EMERCOM Dmitry Kozlov, based on the drills the rescuers received satisfactory evaluation.

“The fire in the train car was successfully extinguished by the EMERCOM forces and fire train of the “Russian Railway.” People were evacuated from the affected cars by the rescuers,” he said.

In turn, the deputy chief of Kuybyshev Railway on the territory Maxim Kiselev expressed the hope that such a situation will never occur in reality.

“Today's drills demonstrated [...] that these problems can be solved only in strict collaboration. Today, we involved almost all the structure of the railway, two recovery trains, a fire train, emergency crews, power engineers, railway engineers and restorers. [...] I believe we will continue to develop skills in a real situation,” he explained.

Maxim Kiselev said that there were no special reprimands during the drills but the timeliness of notification.
