“We have been long and hard negotiating with the management of the shopping center,” Alexei Nikulin, director of “Penza City Advertising Service,” a municipal state-funded enterprise told PenzaNews on Thursday, October 20.
He explained that placement of any advertisements on the building is forbidden in connection with its status of a monument.
“It should be agreed with the Planning and Architecture Department [of Penza]. The advertisements that were placed on the building was not agreed upon and could never have been,” the agency interlocutor said.
Along with that, Alexei Nikulin drew attention to the fact that a part of advertising signage – on the left side of the building and above the entrance to DNS - was left by the owner.
“If the owner does not remove it, we’ll probably remove them,” he noted.
The director of the advertising services added that works on removing advertisements from buildings’ façades in the city center with special equipment are also scheduled for the next week.
At present, numerous metal frames, which banners were fixed to, and their exterior lighting remain on the building.
