Postcard, dedicated to 40th anniversary of Nikolai Burdenko museum, franked in Penza

Penza, 21 October 2016. PenzaNews. The solemn ceremony of franking of the postcard dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the Nikolai Burdenko Memorial House-Museum took place in Penza on Friday, October 21.

Addressing the audience, the local historian Igor Shishkin said that thanks to the card people of the country will know that Penza is connected with the name of Nikolai Burdenko.
“This year is special to us: […] three memorable dates are celebrated this year: he was born in June 140 years ago, three weeks from now it is going to be 70 years since he died. And here these days we are celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Burdenko museum,” he said.
In turn, the head of the museum Natalia Seliverstova called the postcard franking a historical sign.
“Every stamp, every envelope and every postcard are all historical signs. They are preserved for ages. Our task, the museum’s task is to preserve the memory of Nikolai Nikolaevich Burdenko forever,” the head of the museum explained, and then she spoke about the history of the institution and the life of the famous doctor.
The doctor of the organizational methodical department of the Burdenko regional hospital Igor Kiryukhin expressed the view that now it is necessary to find and collect videos recording the surgeon because they may partly become visual material for modern physicians.
After that, the deputy chairman of the Penza branch of the union of philatelists of Russia Boris Moskalev asked Igor Shishkin, Igor Kiryukhin, doctor of the Burdenko hospital Gerasim Ardakov, Natalia Seliverstova and the deputy director of the Federal Postal Service of Penza Tatiana Sofiyskaya to frank postcards with five different stamps.
