Penza, 8 December 2016. PenzaNews. The 7th Lawyer of the Year ceremony took place in the Penza State University on Thursday, December 8.

The main award was given to the PhD in Legal studies, the Penza Duma deputy chairman Ivan Krasnov.

This year, for the first time, it was decided to introduce the award in the nomination “Young lawyer”. It was given to the student of the faculty of law of the Penza State University Andrei Glukhov. The young man is a regional coordinator of the corpus “For fair elections” and one of the leaders of the young lawyers board.

Having drawn the attention to the innovation, the deputy chief of the regional government Oleg Yagov suggested introduction of another nomination in 2017 – “Future lawyer”.

“Pupils who participate in law and social studies contests would be able to be present in this wonderful hall, and starting from 2017 we would give awards to them. The government is ready to join this process,” he said.

The students of the law faculty of the Penza State University Yana Martyanova, Irina Sorokina, Andrei Mukhratov, and Arman Margaryan received awards in the nomination “Golden reserves”. All of them took active part in rendering legal assistance to organizations and individuals.

The ex-prosecutor of the Penza region, 2nd class judicial counsellor  Victor Kostyaev and the ex-head of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs, major general Alexander Pronin became prize winners in the nomination “For devotion to the profession”.

During the grand ceremony, it was announced that starting 2017 it is planned to award the prize of Valerian Volzhin, which will be given to the public activists who made great contribution to the establishment of the legal state, consolidation of legality and civil rights protection.
