Penza, 11 December 2016. PenzaNews. Residents and guests of the Penza region plunged in the atmosphere of the second half of the 17th century at the 1st All-Russian war-historical festival “Frontiers of Muscovite Tsardom”, which took place in Soglasie micro-district.

The main region of the reconstruction was Muscovite Trardom and its neighbours, and meanwhile the audience could see how people lived and fought at the times of the Penza fortress city foundation.

Greeting the audience, the deputy chief of the regional government Oleg Yagov thanked the representatives of the organizations “Sokol” and “Svyatogor” thanks to whose efforts this event became possible.

“Today the new history starts at the Penza land – the history of the festival that did not exist in our country before. The first festival “Frontiers of Muscovite Tsardom” starts exactly on December 10, 2016,” he said.

Oleg Yagov reminded that two historical festivals are already held in the region – “Marsovo field” and “Zolotarevskoe settlement – intersection of civilizations”.

“And starting 2016, I hope we will hold the winter war historical festival every December,” the deputy chief of the regional government added.

During the festival, the guests had a chance to visit the field camp, where they could see marching exercises of kozaks and streltsy regiments.

One of the most spectacular events was the horse tournament.

In addition, the audience was even more excited with the reconstruction of the 17th century fight.

Apart from the main programme, each person could find entertainments to their taste, for example, one could see how coins were minted at those times, try oneself in archery and buy souvenirs at the fair located at the festival ground.
