Penza, 1 January 2017. PenzaNews. The first baby born in the Penza region in 2017 is a girl, who came to life in the Kamenka area maternity hospital at 0.02 on Sunday, January 1. This was reported by the press service of the regional Ministry of Health.

“According to the medical workers, it is a good sign that the first born baby is a girl, it shows that no war actions will take place in the region. The year will be fruitful, wealthy and peaceful,” the department noted.

It was added that the second born baby is also a girl – she was born in the Kuznetsk area maternity hospital at 2.25.

“The last baby born in the previous 2016 year – at night on December 31 – is a girl. She was born in the Kuznetsk area maternity hospital at 22.30,” the press service said.

The Ministry of Health specified that on the New Year night, 21 babies were born in the institutions of obstetrics of the Penza region, including eight boys and 13 girls.

According to the main expert specialist of the medical aid department of the obstetric service of the Ministry of Health of the Penza region Lana Romanova, all babies are healthy.

“The babies and their mothers are in good condition and feel well,” she noted.
