Penza, 21 January 2017. PenzaNews. Clearing and dredging of the Sura riverbed in Penza became the main issue of the meeting held by the Minister of Forestry, Hunting and Natural Resources Alexander Moskvin on Friday, January 20.

The participants of the meeting were representatives of the mayor's office, the administration of the Zheleznodorozhny area of Penza, as well as the companies responsible for engineering communications.

According to the data announced at the meeting, bottom sediments are intensively deposed in the Sura river, which contributes to its siltation. The hydraulic section of the riverbed, and as the result, the bandwidth of the river, decreased.

At present, the materials for work specification development are collected in order to prepare the budget documentation for clearing.

"As the result of the meeting, it became possible to determine the segments of the riverbed, where the conduct of works is planned," the press service of the regional Ministry of Forestry said.
