As it was reported before the official opening of the event by the academic secretary of the institution, Cand. Sc. Dmitry Murashov, within the framework of the festival librarians from the areas of the Penza region will represent creative works in the following areas: "Eco-project", "Eco-poster", and "Eco-video".
"The issue of interaction between a man and nature – one of the most urgent nowadays – will be touched upon from various sides. The contest for the best creative work devoted to the memory of Nikolai Andreevich Panov – the first librarian of the Lermontov library, is held within the framework of the festival. It will last several months and will end [...] on the Day of Libraries: the winner of the contest will be announced on May 27," he said.
During the opening ceremony Dmitry Murashov emphasized that all people understand the need to conserve the nature, but when it comes to personal interests, human ego is on the first place.
"There are a lot of issues when it comes to the interaction of a man and nature [...] and our festival is the place where decisions on these issues will be suggested. They will not be final, of course, because I believe that the interaction of a man and nature is one of the eternal topics that can be discussed forever," he explained.
After that, participants of the festival were shown the video "Nature needs a man" made of Russian and world classical films fragments.
After that, two reports were given. Thus, the senior teacher of the geography department of the faculty of physico-mathematical and natural sciences of the pedagogical institute of Penza State University Natalia Alekseeva told participants of the festival about nature reserves of the Penza region, and the head of the projects on ecological education of the Penza department of the public organization "EKA" Daria Bogdanova reported about modern problems of ecology.
