Penza, 7 February 2017. PenzaNews. The month-long action aimed at the prevention of children's traffic injuries started in the Penza region.

As it was reported by the propaganda department of the traffic police of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, events aimed at reducing accidents and introduction of additional measures to ensure the safety of small pedestrians and passengers will be hold during February.

"Eight traffic accidents that involve children and teenagers under the age of 16, nine of whom were injured, were registered in the territory of the Penza region in January 2017," the state traffic police noted.

The office explained that parents should daily remind their children of the traffic rules and tell them how to behave on the road in this or that situation.

"When transporting children it is important to use child restraints and safety belts," the propaganda department said.

Within the framework of the action state traffic police officers turned to adult road users.

"Dear adult pedestrians, drivers, and passengers, you are the main role model for our children. Be careful on the roads because children watch your behaviour and learn from it. Frivolous attitude to traffic rules and ignoring the transport discipline leads to tragic consequences," the department noted.
