"I have been working in this sphere and creating my own brand ['Ksenia Knyazeva'] for seven years by now. During this time I received great experience, I know where to take good fabrics, accessories, where to find good professionals in our country who can deal with accessories, embroidery or can sew bags. There are a lot of skilled people in Russia who can create a brand of their own," Ksenia Knyazeva told PenzaNews.

She added that it is possible to sew clothes in Russia the prices of which will be able to compete with those of the clothes produced in China, Italy, France and other countries.

"Having here a studio that develops concepts, collections, prints, embroideries, jacquards, uniquely designed fabrics and dividing this all by several factories that have workshops of their own, it is possible to create a competitive brand here. In addition, we have talented designers who can make patterns by hand," the interlocutor explained.

At the same time, Ksenia Knyazeva noted that brand clothes would by no means compete with the products targeted at mass consumers.

"At present, my brand belongs to the price category 'above average'. The same quality products are sold in Russia at more expensive price. A dress of my brand costs around 15-20 thousand rubles, while a dress of a similar brand, which produces clothes at the same factory where we do, costs over 60 thousand rubles," she said.

According to her, in order to get into the world market, Russian designers should reorganize their work: they should launch collections much before clothes get to shops so that buyers, who are responsible for purchase in the fashion industry, have time to become familiar with the collections.

"At present, we are working on the collection 'Autumn-winter 2017-2018', we already prepared lookbooks and sew samples of the collection. On around February 20, we will take part in Collection Première Moscow, which is an international exhibition, where Russian buyers examine new brands and write orders for new collections," Ksenia Knyazeva noted.

Answering the question if brand clothes are in demand in her native Penza, the designer drew attention to the level of income in the region.

"When I only started my business, I opened a shop in Penza. It was a catastrophe. [...] I know that the Penza region is unfortunately one of the poorest regions of our country. Only few people can afford buying a dress that costs 20,000 rubles, when the salary is 15,000," she said.

At the same time, Ksenia Knyazeva noted that residents of Penza aspire to dress fashionably and nicely.

"The most important thing is that Penza girls are very fashionable, they want to dress fashionably, and most of them have good taste. They would wear our clothes with pleasure if they could afford it," the designer summed up.

Ksenia Knyazeva was born in Penza on October 19, 1985.

When she was 8 months old, her family moved to Zarechny of the Penza region.

In 2007, she graduated from V.G. Belinsky Penza State Pedagogical University majoring in journalism.

At the third year she began to work at "11th Channel", in addition she was a DJ at the radio station "Europe Plus Penza".

In 2009, she moved to Moscow and started to work at the "Pervy Kanal" in the programme "Good morning" in a fashion section.

Since 2010, she has been developing her own brand of designer clothing "Ksenia Knyazeva".
