Penza, 15 February 2017. PenzaNews. The resident of the village Zasechny of the Penza region, the worker of the shop "Dizayner" Andrei Izotov decided to completely reject traditional wallpaper and to paint film heroes instead – Deadpool, Green Goblin, Joker, and Harley Quin – while decorating walls in his new flat in Sputnik City.

"I never studied this on purpose, at school when I was bored I just drew pictures on the margins better than other people in the class. A long time ago, my friend and I bought a couple of spray paints for household needs. When all works were finished and some paint was left we decided to draw a painting on the garage wall, and as it seemed to us, the pictured turned out well. This is how the age of graffiti began in my life. We painted everything that came to our minds, everything that we saw, and everywhere we could," Andrei Izotov told PenzaNews.

According to him, gradually thanks to his hobby he got acquainted with more experienced artists, who shared their knowledge with him.

"The first success came to me in spring, 2009, when my friend and I took the first place in the graffiti exhibition "Thoughts of the streets", after which we received several orders for our pictures. In summer, 2010, we took the second place at the festival "Energy"," the artist noted.

Andrei Izotov added that after the active start in this activity he had quite a long break – he went to the army and did not paint for almost 5 years.

"When I got married and bought a flat, I even did not think of hanging wallpaper – my heart was not in it. Together with my wife we chose the colour scheme, which I decided to supplement with an unobtrusive ornament. A year ago, I watched the film "Deadpool", after which I decided to paint the hero in the kitchen. For the first time, not to mention useless drawing lessons at school, I used brushes, which as it turned out were not designed for this type of paints. Despite this, the picture seems to be very good. In one day the photo received 250 likes on Instagram, though I had 5 times less subscribers than I do now," the interlocutor said.

He added that he used usual water-dispersible interior paints, and selected the needed colours straight at work – in the shop "Dizayner".

"I decided to continue the same way. My wife and I had disagreements only about the choice of the image. After Deadpool, I planned to draw Hulk on the opposite wall as it was of suitable green colour, but having talked things over we decided that a huge bare-chested monster will look unappetizing, to put it mildly. Then the choice fell on Green Goblin – the antagonist of Spider-Man, who was painted opposite to the first picture," Andrei Izotov said explaining that while working he does not use a projection camera for outlining, but uses a grid for orientation and ranging.

He noted that then he switched his attention to a large white wall in the room.

"It was the time when the film 'Suicide Squad' was released and I started to draw the characters I liked: on the one side I painted Joker played by Jared Leto, and on the other – Harley Quinn, played by the actress Margot Robbie. Painting her was especially scaring. The image was quite difficult, because the heroine had to be nice, and I was only a self-taught artist. But my more experienced colleague said that it is necessary to set difficult goals, he showed a couple of ways of laying paint and that is what I have now," Andrei Izotov admitted.

He specified that altogether, it takes him 20-30 hours to draw one picture, but the work can drag on for several weeks and even months.

The owner of the unusual flat noted that when he and his wife get bored with the large bright drawings, he will paint them over, besides he has a lot of ideas in mind and is not going to stop at what he already achieved.
