Penza, 22 February 2017. PenzaNews. Simulated fire in one of the rooms on the 4th floor of the Heliopark Residence hotel in Penza was extinguished within the framework of the fire-tactical maneuvers held on Wednesday, February 22.

According to the story, people located on the upper floors of the building asked for help.

Workers of EMERCOM, the traffic police, an ambulance, representatives of the fire and salvage centre and the life-supporting service immediately arrived to the place of the simulated fire.

The staff of the hotel conducted evacuation, but some people were cut off from the exit. Because of this, the fire received a higher degree of severity.

Traffic police officers cordoned off the building and blocked the road. After this, the rescue operation to save people and to extinguish the simulated fire began. With the help of a rope descender and a motor ladder, all "victims" left the building and received medical treatment. Gas rescue service teams entered the building and extinguished the simulated fire within the shortest possible time.

"Altogether, 72 people and 12 units of machinery were involved in the maneuvers. We trained ways to rescue people from upper floors of buildings, improved the interaction of all emergency and life-supporting services, and discussed the results of the maneuvers," the press service of the main department of the EMERCOM of Russia in the Penza region told PenzaNews noticing that such trainings are conducted once a month in different locations.
