Penza, 22 February 2017. PenzaNews. In 2017 it is planned to repair 201 kilometres of roads from Penza to area centres and 111 kilomentres – between area centres and urban districts. This was reported by the head of the regional Ministry of Construction Alexander Grishaev at the regular meeting of the regional government.

According to him, it is also planned to continue construction of roads leading to important rural settlements with a total length of 22.5 km – to the villages Karamaly of the Nikolsky area, Arshinovka of the Narovchatsky area, Karapovka of the Serdobsky area, Ust-Murza and Mordovskaya Norka of the Shemysheysky area, Sheino of the Pachelmsky area, and others.

"The auction campaign aimed at attracting contracting organizations will finish in April," Alexander Grishaev noted.

As it was reported by the press service of the regional government, in 2017 the road fund of the Penza region will allocate the record amount of money – 4,976 million rubles. The money will be directed not only to road repairs and construction but also to pedestrian crossings equipment, installment of street lighting and fences, and improvement of sidewalks and bridge crossings.

About 40 road organizations and about 40 asphalt plants operate in the Penza region. At present, 4 million tons of asphalt, over 500,000 tons of macadam, and over 50,000 tons of bitumen are already prepared. These materials make up 80-90% of all the materials needed by the workers.
