"I think that judging the situation by the official statistics we simply try to avoid worrying. I do not believe this data," he said during the forum "Police for a healthy lifestyle", which was held for the first time at the premises of the House of Youth on Tuesday, February 28.
According to Yuri Ruzlyaev, the mismatch of two indicators, these are the decrease of addicted citizens and the increase of drugs delivery to the region, causes reasonable doubts.
The head of the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs specified that in 2014, the police confiscated 105 kg of drugs, in 2015 – 150 kg, and in 2016 – 99.5 kg.
"The number of registered drug addicts in 2014 amounted to 2,885 people, in 2015 – 2,711 people even though the police confiscated 150 kg of poisonous substances, and in 2016, we confiscated 100kg of drugs while the number of registered addicts equalled to 2,313 people," Yuri Ruzlyaev provided the data.
