As it was reported by an official representative of the department of the Federal Bailiff Service of Russia in the Penza region, in some cases drivers pay penalties only after bailiff's interference.

"One man, for example, was aware that he had to pay 30,000 rubles of penalty for drunk driving. However, he did not pay it immediately hoping that until he does not use a car, the state will not remember about him and will write off the debt. The case was submitted to bailiffs. The debtor was told about measures that will be taken against him in case he refuses to pay the stated amount of money. The man did not want to lose his property, besides he did not want neither additional penalties nor restriction of his rights," the interlocutor explained.

She specified that after that the man paid the debt at once.

"Another man did not open the door of his house for a long time. He just looked through the peephole waiting for officials to leave. He had been caught for drunk driving eatlier and the last time he was aware of the debt, though he did not want to pay 30,000 rubles. The man was deprived of the right to drive for 1.5 years and was not going to pay the penalty. However, his wife, who just came back home from work, opened the door to the officials and had to pay the money," Yana Zagrebelnaya added.
