According to him, last year the investigative committee opened 118 cases on crimes against children, with 103 of them – on sexual abuse of children.
"Most of these crimes are of a latent nature. They are not easy to recognize. They have nothing to do with murders when we have a corpse with injures and everything is clear. As a rule, such crimes are committed within a family and are concealed then," Oleg Troshin noted.
He explained that investigators developed cooperation with law enforcement authorities and officials: together they analyse information received from different sources including schools and social networks.
Oleg Troshin emphasized the fact that reaction of the investigative committee to such crimes will be sharp and it will not bother interfering in private life of people.
"It is illegal to have sexual relationships with minors," he stated adding that such violators will be arrested within 24 hours.
