Penza, 13 March 2017. PenzaNews. Officers of the Penza region State Traffic Police registered 51 persons who drove vehicles in the state of alcoholic intoxication on March 10-12. This was reported by the propaganda department of the traffic police of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

"Ten of these drivers were arrested thanks to the information received from the citizens," the State Traffic Police specified.

The office noted that the main goal of the conducted preventive actions was to prevent car accidents that happen because of intoxicated citizens.

"Driving a car in the state of intoxication leads to administrative penalty equal to 30,000 rubles and deprival of the right to drive a car during the period from 1.5 to 2 years if such driving does not result in a criminal act," the office reminded.
