Penza, 20 March 2017. PenzaNews. A desire to draw parents' attention and problems in private life were the main reasons of children's attempts to commit suicide in the Penza region in 2016. Such information was stated in a report prepared by the Ombudsman for Children's Rights in the Penza region Elena Stolyarova, which was posted on a website of the regional Legislative Assembly.

The report states that according to the investigative department of the regional Investigative Committee, the office conducted 15 inspections on the fact of suicides, 14 of which were committed by school pupils with seven of them coming from incomplete problem-free families.

Three cases were fatal.

As a result of the inspection it became possible to identify reasons of the incidents: two incidents were caused by depression because of death of a relative, four – by depression and a desire to draw parents' attention, three – by problems in private life and two – by limited access to computer games.

In addition, suicides were caused by drug addiction, use of medicine to relieve pain, fear that parents would scold for a case of alcohol abuse, and family problems.
