Penza, 6 April 2017. PenzaNews. The Penza garrison military court imposed a punishment by means of imprisonment in a penal colony settlement for the term of 5 months to a private soldier who was found guilty of the offence presupposed by the Part 1, Art. 334 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Violent actions against the superior".

As it was stated by the court's website, while in the barracks the soldier was late to the evening formation having violated the rules established in the military unit.

On seeing the soldier who arrived to the formation late and had uniform infractions, the officer, following the service regulations of the Armed forces of the Russian Federation, did not let him join the ranks and ordered to arrange his appearance. However, the soldier left and did not come back.

Then, the officer went to the bedroom part of the quarters, where he rebuked the private soldier. In response, the soldier resorted to using swearing words in relation to his commander disparaging the merit and honour of the superior officer. After that, the soldier used violence against him. First, he hit the man with his hand in the temple area, then he punched him in the chest. The criminal actions were stopped by comrades-in-arms.

The civil action was not satisfied to a full extent – the court exacted in the victim's favour compensation of the moral harm equal to 30,000 rubles.
