Over 5,000 people take part in action "Together against terror" in Penza
Penza, 8 April 2017. PenzaNews. Over 5,000 people took part in the action "Together against terror", which was held in Lenina square in Penza on Saturday, April 8.
The event was attended by the governor Ivan Belozertsev, representatives of the legislative and executive powers, public activists and residents of the regional centre. They commemorated the victims of the terrorist attack in the Saint Petersburg metro.
The action started with a minute of silence, which was preceded by 14 strokes of a bell that symbolized 14 lives that stopped existing as a result of the terrible tragedy.
Participants of the action emphasized that the task of all sensible people who care is to do everything that is possible so that persons responsible for the crime should not be acquitted. Other important tasks are to remember those who died and who fights terrorism protecting the motherland.
Turning to those present, the chairman of the regional branch of “Russian Union of Afghan Veterans” Vladimir Kholzinev noted that terrorism is the lowest manifestation of war.
"We saw the war and we know what it is like to lose our loved ones. Today we mourn together with those who lost wives, fathers, mothers, children in Saint-Petersburg," the press service of the regional government quotes Vladimir Kholzinev.
