30 HIV-infected people die in Penza region in first quarter of 2017

Penza, 25 April 2017. PenzaNews. 30 HIV-infected citizens died in the Penza region from January to March 2017. This was reported by the press service of the regional department of the Federal Service on Surveillance for Consumer rights protection and human well-being.

According to the department, during the whole period of observation the number of people who died of HIV infection amounted to 117.
In terms of spread of the HIV infection in the Penza region Kuznetsk occupies the first position – 789.6 cases per 100,000, it is followed by the Kuznetsk area – 390.9 cases per 100,000, Zarechny – 440.3 cases, Penza – 314.8, as well as the Issinsky, Luninsky, Penza, Maloserdobsky areas – 240.5-285 cases per 100,000.
As it was reported earlier, from January to March, 2017, 96 new cases of HIV infection were registered in the Penza region. The total number of HIV-infected people registered during this period is 118.
