Each team consisted of five people.
Participants had to put on the equipment as quickly as possible and to run to the finish line while unrolling fire-hoses, attaching them to a fire car and hitting a special target that was filled with water in case of a true hit.
The correctness of task fulfillment was controlled by judges who gave penalty points in case of rules violation. All actions were identical to real work in a fire.
The head of the Penza region EMERCOM head department, the major general of the internal service Sergei Kozlov noted that such competitions are traditional for the Penza region.
"Reaction time in rural area amounts to 20 minutes, in a city – 10 minutes. It goes without saying that unless we react fast [...], it may lead to a tragedy," he said explaining that such competitions allow improving firefighters' skills.
As a result, the fastest team that finished with the result of 52.76 seconds was team No. 5 of the Federal Fire-Fighting Service of the Penza region. The winners received a challenge cup.
The second and third places were occupied by the teams of specialized fire and salvage units No. 6 of the Federal Fire-Fighting Service of the Penza region and No. 6 of the Federal Fire-Fighting Service of the area with the results of 55.78 seconds and 1 min 2.72 seconds respectively.
All prizewinners received diplomas and gifts. Other participants of the competition received consolation prizes.
For the first time the competitions were attended by school pupils of the 9th form of lyceum No. 2, who were allowed to use fire extinguishers while fighting with simulated fire. The first place was occupied by Oksana Azizova, the second – by Kirill Fedoskin, and the third – by Artem Soldatov.
When the celebration in honour of the participants was over, those workers of the service, who distinguished themselves the most, received awards. The reward “For Bravery In Fire Rescue” was given to the lieutenant of the internal service Andrei Matyushenko.
About 70 workers received the reward "25 Years of EMERCOM".
