The improvement campaign was organized with the assistance of the administration of the Leninsky area of the city.
As the activist of the All-Russia People’s Front Marina Sivyakova told PenzaNews, the place for cleaning – the territory near the stairs leading to the Spaso-Preobrazhensky [Holy Transfiguration] Monastery – was chosen taking into account historical importance of the site and a large number of tourists who come to enjoy the city view from a view point.
"I would like to thank all those people who spent a lot of time and effort. I hope that tourists who will come to Penza will enjoy the cleanness of the city," the interlocutor noted.
She added that the participants of the community work day collected about 50 bags of garbage that included quite unexpected things such as a computer and a mattress.
