Remains of soldier from village Koldais discovered in Belarus by search teams

Penza, 4 May 2017. PenzaNews. Search teams that take part in an international exhibition in the Rogachevsky area of the Gomel region unearthed remains of the soldier of the Red Army, born in the Village Koldais of the Shemysheisky area, Dmitry Shindyakin.

As the press service of the Ministry of Education of the Penza region told PenzaNews, the search is conducted in the territory where soldiers of the 61st infantry division formed in the Penza region fought in 1941.

"In July and August, 1941, the division conducted battles within the 63rd infantry corps. Together with the 154th and 167th infantry divisions, they repulsed an attempt of German troops to force the Dnieper river near the city Rogachev," the department explained.

The press service added that the search teams would have to establish relatives of the soldier and to transfer and rebury the remains in the motherland.
