Penza, 8 May 2017. PenzaNews. The final event of the patriotic campaign "The Star of Memory" was held by the Penza Military and Labor Valor Monument on Monday, May 8. Within the framework of the campaign, workers of culture establishments conducted guided tours for school pupils through notable places of WWII.

"I personally attended the excursions and found out many new facts about the life and activities of Penza residents during the war. I wish that you keep this memory with dignity and pride, and I hope that you will share the knowledge with your children," the deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Penza region Yana Kuprina said to those present.

Then, 11 tour guides who took an active part in the campaign were awarded with letters of gratitude from the secretary of the regional department of the "United Russia" faction, the chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the region Valery Lidin.

After that, school pupils visited the final guided trip.

The results of the campaign, which started 72 days before the Day of Victory this year, were summed up also by other monuments included in the tour circuit. These are the Farewell Monument, the Afghan Gates monument and the Torn Star complex, the press service of the regional department of "United Russia" informs.
