"Immortal Regiment" in Penza united about 25,000 people

Penza, 9 May 2017. PenzaNews. About 25,000 Penza citizens took part in the “Immortal Regiment” campaign dedicated to the 72st anniversary of the Great Victory in the Great Patriotic War, which was celebrated on Tuesday, May 9. This was reported by the governor Ivan Belozertsev.

"About 25,000 Penza citizens joined the ‘Immortal Regiment’ today in remembrance of their ancestors," the head of the region wrote on Twitter.

He noted that the campaign unites those Russians who cherish the memory of the people who fought for Victory on fronts and in the rear.

"We remember these people and we are proud of them!" Ivan Belozertsev added.

As it was reported before, the number of the participants of the campaign "Immortal Regiment", which grew international over the past few years, is increasing every year.

In 2015, it united over 2,000 residents, and in 2016 the campaign was joined by 11,000 people.
