Penza, 12 May 2017. PenzaNews. The head of the Penza administration presented large families with letters of gratitude, souvenirs and flowers during the celebration of the city holiday "Keep warmth of home", organized in the House of Youth on Friday, May 12.

Families that are registered at centres of city social services were also invited to the celebration.

Before the concert, guests of the event could visit an exhibition of Penza social services institutions. There people could get a specialist advice on the issues of families with children support.

During the event, the Penza mayor noted that the family and the municipality's work aimed for strengthening this social institution are very important in the modern society.

"Implementation of social and population policies in the city gives positive results – the birth rate is steadily growing. In 2011, for example, 5,202 babies were born, while in 2016 – 5,949 ones. [...] The number of large families also increased. Thus, in 2009 the city numbered 800 large families bringing up 2,605 children. Today, their number amounts to 1,796 families that bring up about 6,000 children," the press service of the Penza administration quotes Victor Kuvaytsev.
