Mine from time of WWII defused near Penza

Penza, 16 May 2017. PenzaNews. Workers of the federal national guard troops service of the Penza region defused a mine from the time of the Great Patriotic war, which was discovered in the Penzensky area.

As the press service of the department told PenzaNews, the information about the discovery of an item similar to an artillery shell was received on Monday, May 15.
"Bomb-disposal experts of the special police squad of the federal national guard troops service as well as representatives of EMERCOM, the ambulance and the police immediately arrived to the scene of the incident. The surrounding area was cordoned off and roads were blocked in order to prevent intrusion of strangers," the department explained.

The press service specified that the discovery turned out to be an 82-millimetre mine of 1940ies that had traces of corrosion.
"The ammunition represented a serious threat to life and health of citizens and was not suitable for transportation. Fighters of the special police squad destroyed the explosive object by a pressure charge at the same place where it had been found.
