Penza governor and Ombudsman for Children's Rights in Slovakia discuss forms of social support

Penza, 17 May 2017. PenzaNews. The meeting of the Penza region governor and the Ombudsman for Children's Rights in the Slovak Republic Viera Tomanova was held in the governor's house on Wednesday, May 17.

Viera Tomanova especially noted activities of the Children's Rights Commissioner for President of Russia Anna Kuznetsova, which the woman conducted in Penza.

"The activities she did before her appointment are worth to be praised. [...] Of course there were people who helped her but she would not have managed to achieve such results without help of the region," the Ombudsman for Children's Rights in Slovakia added.

She highly appreciated the contribution of all people involved in the reconstruction of a former kindergarten building, where at present the crisis centre of assistance to women and children in a difficult situation "Pokrov" is located.

According to Viera Tomanova, the project can be further developed by means of necessary infrastructure.

"The project started by Anna Kuznetsova was finished thanks to your efforts," she said turning to the governor.

During the meeting, Ivan Belozertsev noted that despite an economic crisis, not a single social support programme was suspended in the Penza region.

The statement touched the Ombudsman for Children's Rights in the Slovak Republic, who noted that her country used to have difficult time as well.

"Efficient economy is a key to good social programmes. It is nice to hear that despite all issues you managed to preserve social programmes," she said.

Viera Tomanova thanked the Ombudsman for Children's Rights in the Penza region Elena Stolyarova for showing her projects she was interested in. The Ombudsman for Children's Rights in Slovakia also expressed a desire to study Penza region's experience of providing young families and orphans with housing more deeply.

At the end of the meeting, Ivan Belozertsev invited Viera Tomanova to visit the State Lermontov Museum – the Reserve “Tarkhany” located in the Belinsky area of the Penza region.

"I wish you did not have to leave. I see that you are a nice person and that you have been focused on providing assistance to people all your life," he added.
