Penza, 26 May 2017. PenzaNews. 72 people turned to doctors after they were bitten by ticks in the Penza region over a period of May 18-25. This was reported by the press service of the regional department of the Federal Service on Surveillance for Consumer rights protection and human well-being.

Since the beginning of ticks’ activity, 269 people turned to medical institutions for help. A week ago, the number of bitten people was 197.

95 of them were children under the age of 14.

181 ticks found on people's bodies underwent a laboratory analysis. Eight of them were carriers of ixodic tick borreliosis. A week ago, this indicator was equal to six.
