Penza, 31 May 2017. PenzaNews. No invited performers will take part in concerts dedicated to Russia Day and City Day, which are scheduled in Penza on Monday, June 12. This was reported by the head of the city’s Culture Department Vera Feigina during a press conference that was held in the mayor's office on Wednesday, May 31.

According to her, their arrival would not fit into the idea of the holiday.

"The idea of City Day this year is citizens' initiative and their realization," Vera Feigina explained emphasizing that this is a particular feature of the upcoming holiday.

In turn, the Penza mayor Victor Kuvaytsev expressed confidence that concert programmes prepared by local performers will not be worse in terms of spectacularity than those prepared in previous years.

"We have enough local celebrities to make the holiday interesting for people who will come to the celebration. I think, the concert programme will be rich," he said.

As it was reported before, in 2016, the Penza CIty Day celebration was attended by the singer, actor, composer and film director Renat Ibragimov. In 2013, the concert on the occasion of the 350th anniversary of the city was attended by famous singers Sergei Penkin and Dmitry Malikov.
