Over half of Penza borrowers take loans to pay off old debts

Penza, 13 June 2017. PenzaNews. For the first quarter of the year 2017, a share of new cash loans aimed at partial or total repayment of old debts equalled to 52% in the Penza region. This was testified by data of an investigation conducted by experts of the United Credit Bureau (UCB).

Within the framework of the investigation, the experts analysed frequency and purpose of getting new cash loans when already having another one. Data of over 45 million Russian borrowers with open accounts were taken into account.

According to provided data, compared to the first quarter of the year 2016, the Penza region indicator decreased by 1% – a year ago it equalled to 53%.

In general, a tendency towards decrease was observed in 23 regions. The most significant changes were registered in Ingushetia – from 38% to 30%.

In addition to the Penza region, residents of other 51 regions use over half of new cash loans to pay off old debts.

In a general list, ranked in a descending order of such loans ratio, the Penza region occupied the 47th position between Moscow and the Khabarovsk Krai.

The highest indicator was registered in Altai – 66%.

Residents of the North Caucasus refund old debts the least often. In Ingushetia, only 30% of new loans was used to pay off old debts, in Chechnya – 40%, both in Kabardino-Balkaria and Dagestan – 42%, in Karachay-Cherkessia – 43%.
