"We have just asphalted some areas in the city. Drivers of heavy trucks have found these roads convenient and they started driving along Suvorova, Kulakova and Zakharova streets, they enter Okruzhnaya street driving first along Mira street. I personally followed these trucks a couple of times. I watched them and what I saw was that the asphalt got damaged – tiny cracks appeared on its surface. It is natural. However, what will happen with the asphalt by autumn? Even more cracks will appear. In winter the surface will be damaged completely, and the asphalt will become unfit for use," he said at the 35th regular meeting of the Penza City Duma, which was held on Tuesday, June 27.

Among the solutions offered by the deputy was to organize parking lots for heavy trucks outside the city, where the drivers would transfer goods to smaller cars.

"Trucks of 'Magnit', 'Pyaterochka' and others transport 15-20 tons of goods driving throughout the city delivering the products. It is wrong. [...] They should use light-duty vehicles," Anatoly Ovcharenko noted.

Other deputies and representatives of the mayor's office, who were present in the hall, did not react to the proposal during the meeting.
