Penza, 2 July 2017. PenzaNews. 2,097 divorces were registered in the Penza region from January to May 2017, which is 126 more compared to the analogous period of the previous year. This is testified by operational data of the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat).

According to Rosstat, the number of marriages also increased – from 1,944 to 2,233.

The number of children born in the Penza region within five months of 2017 equalled to 4,845 people. This makes up only 86.9% of the last year's indicator – in 2017, 729 less children were born from January to May than a year ago.

At the same time, the number of people who died is even larger. Within the stated period of 2016 the number of deaths amounted to 8,314, but in 2017 this indicator equalled to 8,431 – the increase is 117 people.

The ratio of the number of dead people to the number of born children increased in the Penza region – from 149.2% in 2016 to 174% in 2017.
