Penza, 11 July 2017. PenzaNews. Having lost half a million rubles because of lawsuits over photographs in almost one year, the former FSB official, the member of the social council in the Ministry of Internal Affairs department in the Penza region Alexander Tuzov, who since 2016 had unsuccessfully attempted to create problems with security officials for the PenzaNews founder, was caught in sight of law enforcement bodies.

Statement of the grounds of an offence under Part 2, Art. 128.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation – slander contained in a public speech or in a publicly performed work, and mass-media libel – was filed to the police at the end of March, but this became known in the Internet just now.

In particular, it is about deliberate spreading in mass media, the owner and the editor-in-chief of which is Alexander Tuzov, falsified information that denigrates the honour and dignity and undermines reputation.

It is reported that in the last week, the prosecutor of the Penza region Natalia Kantserova received a address in which a citizen requests to check if police officers timely consider the statement on the grounds of an offence under Part 2, Art. 128.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Slander.” The fact is that requests to examine the check materials were twice sent to the police, however, no one from the Ministry of Internal Affairs department explained how, where and when it can be done.

In doing so, the citizen in his address to the prosecutor of the region, the copy of which is available to PenzaNews, does not exclude that “such long […]examination of the check materials and, as it seems, the reluctance of law enforcement officials to consider […] its results in a timely manner can be connected with the fact that A.V. Tuzov is a member of the public council in the department of Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Penza region.”
