Country’s best energy workers to compete for victory in all-Russian contest in Penza

Penza, 21 July 2017. PenzaNews. The all-Russian competition in professional skills for repair and maintenance of distribution network equipment started at the premises of the local OJSC “MRSK Volga” branch (Rosset group) – “Penzaenergo” on Friday, July 21.

At the same time, the federal phase of the all-Russian contest “Best in profession” in the nomination “Best maintenance electrician for distribution networks,” as well as the Open WorldSkills championship also started in Penza.

The event brought together 20 teams from all over the country, they include specialists who showed the best results at the regional level of the competition.

The opening ceremony started with a parade of participants.

Greeting the people gathered, the first deputy chairman of the Penza region government Andrey Kulintsev wished everyone good luck.

“It is not only an opportunity to demonstrate your skill and expertise, but also to share experience, introduce new technologies in your work,” he said.

According to Andrey Kulintsev, the fact that within the competitions in Penza there will be held the Open World Skills Championship indicates a high level of competence, including that of young people.

In turn, the chief justice Sergei Frolov said that a great deal of preparatory work was done before the competition.

“The program is quite rich. We plan to hold round tables, an exhibition of electrical equipment manufacturers and vehicles, there will be interesting demonstration stages,” he announced.

Sergei Frolov clarified that the winning team will present Russia in the international competitions, which will also be held in Penza.

“I wish you all good luck. The best one will win, but all of you will benefit,” he stressed.

According to the organizers, in 2017 the contest is of unprecedented scale: the total number of participants is approximately 400 people.

Among the innovations is the use of a 3d simulator in one of the substages. It will demonstrate its skills not only by answering questions, but also by performing certain actions.

In total, during competition in professional skills for repair and maintenance of distribution network equipment the teams will have eight stages, including fire extinguishing, rescue of a victim, replacement of the main switch and defective insulator by a packaged transformer substation, primary connection of the residential house and other.

In the corporate WorldSkills standards championship, the participants will have three modules.

The winners will be known on July 28.
