Penza, 28 July 2017. PenzaNews. A young man rescued a mother and a daughter who were drowning in the river Suvernya in the territory of the village Vishnevoe of the Tamalinsky area of the Penza region on Friday afternoon, July 28.

“The girl and her mother were floating on an inflatable mattress. It turned over and they both began to drown. They were rescued by the eyewitness Alexander Kotelnikov,” the press service of the main regional department of the EMERCOM of Russia told PenzaNews.

The department specified that the girl had been sent to hospital in a state of shock and the woman had not required medical assistance.

“In the near future the man will be awarded with a medal ‘For rescuing drowning person’ and will become a nominee of the All-Russian festival ‘Constellation of courage’,” the press service noted.
