230 cases of HIV-infection registered in Penza region in six months

Penza, 18 August 2017. PenzaNews. 230 new cases of HIV-infection were registered in the territory of the Penza region among all contingents of the population during the first six months of the year 2017. This was reported by the press service of the regional department of the Federal Service on Surveillance for Consumer Rights Protection and Human Well-being (Rospotrebnadzor).

At the same time, 220 cases were registered among permanent residents of the Penza region. The incidence rate amounted to 16.4 per 100,000 population, which is 3.1% higher than that of the first half of 2016.

In some districts, the average rates have been significantly exceeded. In particular, the incidence in Bekovsky area equalled to 26 per 100,000 population, in Maloserdobinsky – 33.8, in Serdobsky – 20.2, in Nikolsky – 19.3, in Kuznetsk and Kuznetsky area – 24.

The increase in incidence rate excluding sporadic cases in small areas was registered in Serdobsky, Bessonovsky, Penzensky, Nikolsky, and Kuznetsky areas. At the same time, decrease was registered in seven administrative territories.

The increase in incidence in Penza over regional indicators, which started in 2012, is preserved – over six months of 2017 it amounted to 23.31 per 100,000 population, which is 35.4% higher than a regional indicator. At the same time, the incidence decreased by 0.9% compared to an analogous period of 2016.
