Penza, 18 August 2017. PenzaNews. 138 children received injures of different degrees of severity and four died as a result of traffic accidents that occurred in the Penza region over seven months of 2017.

Altogether 133 traffic accidents involving children were registered.

As it was reported by the press service of the regional Ministry of Health, the preventive action "Attention – children!" will be conducted on September 21-22 together with the regional department of the traffic police under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in order to restore children's and teenager's skill of safe behaviour in streets and roads after summer holidays and to ensure safety of minors.

It is expected that the campaign will feature thematic lessons, quizzes, contests, competitions aimed at consolidating skills of safe behaviour on roads, parents' meetings that would feature consideration of the issue of safety bells and restraints use when transporting children in a car. It will be reminded to the participants that driving motorbikes and mopeds under the age of 16 is forbidden.

The parents will also learn the rules of children's riding a bicycle, legislation on maintenance and upbringing of the minors and possible legal consequences in case of failure to perform their duties.

In addition, it is planned to specify and if necessary to improve road safety documents. In educational institutions, schemes that show safe traffic routes for pedestrians will be renewed.
