Penza, 22 August 2017. PenzaNews. Psychological support for children is at a low level in the Penza region. Such opinion was expressed by the responsible secretary of the regional committee on juvenile affairs and protection of their rights Oleg Babkin.

"Psychological support is underdeveloped in the region at the moment. It is rather hard to find a competent, capable psychologist who is good at taking preventive measures and dealing with juveniles who attempted to commit suicide," he said to journalists after a meeting of the social policy committee under the Legislative Assembly of the Penza region conducted on Tuesday, August 22.

According to Oleg Babkin, in 2017 it is intended to increase the number of positions occupied by psychologists in areas of the region, which number only 12 at the moment.

"These are people who directly get the methodology, instruments, improve their skills, and work with complicated cases.

The secretary of the commission explained that fruitful collaboration between the psychologists and regional departments was elaborated.

"We united people who had different experience and different types of professional education in a chain, in which everyone knows each other, and ways of action and rules are determined – people know who to call and to write in case of emergency," Oleg Babkin added.
