Penza, 22 August 2017. PenzaNews. Several dozen young people carried a tricoloured flag along Moskovskaya street in Penza within a patriotic campaign organized on Russian Federation National Flag Day on Tuesday, August 22.

The ceremonial parade started from the building of the former cinema "Rodina" and finished at the square next to the Lunacharsky Regional Drama Theatre. The parade was followed by a small concert, during which Penza residents could listen to patriotic songs about Russia.

Turning to those present, the deputy chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Penza region Vyacheslav Kosmachev, who also took part in the parade, noted that he was proud of what was happening.

"The holiday is of great importance. It unites our past, present, and future. The tricoloured flag symbolizes main qualities of Russian people. These are purity, will, strength, and nobility," he said.

In turn, the head of the Penza region internal policy department Pavel Maslov expressed the opinion that the flag is a unifying origin, which lets citizens of the country look to the future with confidence.

He urged Penza residents to be proud of the Russian flag.

The deputy of the regional parliament, creative director of the drama theatre Sergei Kazakov also turned to participants of the campaign noting that he was happy to see Penza citizens on that festive day.

According to him, there is no need to be shy of love for the country.

"Russia is youth! Russia is strength! Russia is victory!" he stressed.
