"We should consider the possibility of installing containers for separate waste collection here," he said during the inspection of the premises.

Ivan Belozertsev noted that several years ago he had visited a kindergarten in Sweden, where waste sorting was a usual thing.

According to the head of the region, separate waste collection must be introduced more actively in Russia including through the system of educational institutions.

"Not all parents do this at home. In fact, only few do so. It is necessary to train parents through their children, so that they explain that it is right," Ivan Belozertsev said.

The governor added that the authorities, in turn, had to ensure that appropriate containers were available at waste collection sites and take care of further waste recycling.

"The project must be implemented. [...] The issues should be dealt with when taken together but it is necessary to start from kindergartens," Ivan Belozertsev said.
