Penza, 26 August 2017. PenzaNews. At least two false messages about preparation for terrorist attacks were registered in Penza over the last month. This follows from the information posted on an official website of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

"Thus, on July 25, 2017, a citizen called the police from his mobile phone reporting about a bomb in the building of the railway station Penza-I. All intelligence services, bomb-disposal experts, dog experts with tracker dogs arrived to the scene of the incident. In the course of the carried out activities, 150 people were evacuated from the building. No interruptions in train service were registered. The police officers established that a Penza resident was involved in the crime. He was arrested in Krondshtatskaya street in a state of alcoholic intoxication," the message says.

It adds that a criminal case under Part 1, Art. 207 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Knowingly false information about a terrorist act" was opened on the fact.

"A similar case occurred on August 7, 2017. A regional police control centre under the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia received a message from an unknown person that an explosion was being prepared in the territory of the Oktyabrsky area of Penza. The man claimed that he was a professional bomber," the text explains.

It notes that it was further established that the man had been repeatedly convicted for similar offences.

"At the moment of the call, the citizen was in a state of alcohol intoxication," the message clarifies.
