“The asphalt coating was made entirely of crushed stone and mastic asphalt concrete. When carrying out the road repairs, seven turnouts for public transport were equipped. Today we plan to install bus shelters. We also equipped nine intersections with traffic lights. Nine other traffic light objects are still at the stage of installation,” he said during his visit to the object on Monday, September 4.

Victor Kuvaytsev added that parking bays had been preserved along the whole road stretch where the repairs had been conducted. In addition, 60 new parking places were equipped.

According to him, a proper quality of works was confirmed by an expert's report.

“All used materials were of a high quality. The standard of coating thickness was maintained. All water drainage slopes also conform to the standard – it was also proved by yesterday's rain. Together with the contracting organization we on purpose watched rainwater going down," the mayor explained.

In turn, Ivan Belozertsev urged to pay special attention to water drainage in future road design.

"So that water does not accumulate during rain," the region head said.

He added that it was also necessary to think about road expansion at places where it was possible to do so.
