Penza, 27 September 2017. PenzaNews. The leadership of Penza in the rating that is generated by online voting within the project "The City of Russia. National Choice" stimulates interest in the city. Such opinion was expressed by the deputy chairman of the regional government Oleg Yagov.

"Many people ask me: 'Oleg Vasilyevich why are you doing this? In what way does it benefit us? This gives neither investments nor anything else. I answer that every evening after work I visit the website ‘The City of Russia’ and it gives me comfort to see that Penza occupies the first position leaving contestants 8,000 votes behind," he said at the meeting of the coordination council in tourism affairs under the regional government on Wednesday, September 27.

According to Oleg Yagov, he is deeply convinced that such Internet projects will "only benefit Penza".

"If I lived in another region, I would be interested to know what Penza is like, why it leaves the contestants behind and no other region can catch up with it," the deputy chairman of the regional government noted.

As of Wednesday evening, September 27, over 209,500 people voted for Penza. The second position was occupied by Vladikavkaz with the result of about 189,000 votes, and the third – by Vladivostok, which received almost 147,000 votes.
